Facilitation
Workforces and workplaces are becoming better educated. Many organisations and individuals are moving further down the path of becoming "knowledge workers". Management structures are becoming increasingly flat and business best practice is trying hard to make organisations more collaborative and participatory.
Effective leadership and strong management are critically important under these circumstances, but it takes more skill to deliver them in this new environment, where higher levels of subtlety and performance are required because it is persuasion, rather than compulsion, that inspires and directs the efforts of these "new age" workforces.
Learning Objectives
As with all TSG training, this course is customised to address the individual circumstances and needs of individual participants, and of individual businesses, organisations, professions and industries.
This course teaches effective facilitation skills to managers and professionals - to help them achieve exceptional collaborative results in a wide variety of complex and difficult situations.
Most of this course uses "active group learning". We model a facilitation process ourselves as we guide the group through a substantial and relevant case study designed to expose most of the types of issue encountered in complex facilitations.
Hierarchy of Skills - Position in Skills Development Program
This is a Level (4) course that builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in earlier foundation skills courses covering: (1) Problem Solving & Decision Making; (2) Communication and Balance Communication and, (3) Negotiation.
Alternatively, participants may have obtained significant knowledge from other (there are no comparable!) courses, and from relevant practical experience.
