We work with family businesses, and with families-in-business, to help make families happier and their businesses stronger, over the long term.
We also develop uniquely skilful solutions for most types of non-family problem, challenge, dispute or conflict, including: business to business disputes and workplace, organisational and family conflicts.
Our guiding principle is that people and/or family issues should always be addressed before moving onto technical / legal / financial issues. Over twenty years of experience have convinced us that when you deal with the people issues wisely all of the standard "stuff" (legal, financial etc.) falls into place far less painfully and much more successfully. Consequently our approach, our analysis, our responses and the outcomes we facilitate are usually very different, and much more constructive, than anything you'll get from a "conventional" professional adviser.
The Solutionist Group ("TSG") operates in four major areas:
- Family Business Solutions - expert assistance for all family business challenges and conflicts.
- Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution - for most types of commercial, workplace and family law dispute and conflict.
- Problem Solving - expert facilitation to hlep prevent, manage or resolve problems and challenges that are not (yet!) disputes or conflicts.
- Training - a comprehensive suite of programs to improve practical performance and management skills in communication, negotiation, problem solving, conflict management and dispute resolution.
The Group comprises:
- The Solutionist Group - family business solutions, expert facilitation, general problem solving, professional mentoring and skills training.
- Dispute Solutions - preventing, managing and resolving disputes and conflicts; conflict management systems and consulting .

Our Approach - "Solutionism"
The Solutionist Group uses the principles of Solutionism to produce optimal outcomes in complex and conflicted situations - whenever individuals, businesses or organisations require both a sophisticated approach to problem analysis and constructive responses to problems.
Solutionism improves conventional dispute resolution processes such as arbitration and expert determination and is even more effective in creative processes such as facilitation, mediation, negotiation, business visioning, strategic and succession planning.
Solutionism is an approach that focuses on resolving entire problem situations. It recognises and seeks to satisfy all parties' needs and interests and, as a result, is more likely to produce true "win-win" outcomes than most other "single shot" processes.
Solutionism uses the CONSEPS Methodology (CONscious SEParate Stages) to analyse problems and synthesise solutions in profoundly creative and strategic ways.
Our Skills - "Solutionists" and "Solutioneering"
Our Solutionists combine conventional financial, commercial, legal, accounting, business planning and management skills with innovative problem solving, lateral thinking, negotiation, facilitation, mediation and dispute resolution skills. We call their work Solutioneering .
Solutioneering is what lifts and separates our Solutionists above the "silo-limitations" of ordinary professional disciplines, such as law and accountancy. We bring to the problem: powerful "analysis and synthesis" process frameworks, expert facilitators, creative option generation techniques and strategic solution development tools. We use a collaborative approach to get both clients and their existing advisers working constructively with us to ensure that all available skills and knowledge are brought to bear on the problem.
